Service Deli Manager


We are a busy Christchurch supermarket looking for an experienced and motivated Service Deli Manager to lead our PAK'nSAVE Riccarton Service Deli department.

This is a key leadership role suited to someone who enjoys ownership, leading teams, and maintaining high standards in a fast‑paced fresh food environment. You will be responsible for the overall performance, safety, and compliance of the Service Deli department.

This position reports directly to the Store Manager – Fresh Foods and is a full time leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of the Service Deli department, including people leadership, food safety, health & safety, and performance 
  • Lead, coach and develop the Service Deli team, including Assistant Managers and team members 
  • Plan and manage rosters, production, ordering, stock control and waste 
  • Ensure high standards of customer service, presentation, quality and availability are consistently met 
  • Take responsibility for providing and maintaining a safe working environment within the department 
  • Ensure compliance with all Food Safety, Food Control Plan and Health & Safety requirements 
  • Manage department wages, sales and waste in line with agreed targets 
  • Work collaboratively with Duty Managers and other department leaders

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior or supervisory role within fresh foods, deli or food service 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills 
  • A high level of accountability and ownership 
  • Solid computer skills and good organisational ability 
  • NZ Food Hygiene Qualifications (or willingness to obtain if not already held)

 

This role is full-time and will require weekend work.
