We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and capable Retail Duty Manager to join our busy supermarket team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the fast-paced nature of supermarket retail, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and is ready to take the next step in their retail career.
As Duty Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operation of the store. You will be hands-on, working alongside our team across all areas of the supermarket, while also providing leadership and direction and stepping up to supervise the team when required.
About the role
Working closely with the Owner Operator and Department Managers, you will help ensure the store operates smoothly and maintains a consistently high standard of customer service, merchandising, presentation, food safety and health and safety.
A keen eye for detail and presentation is important. You will need to be able to identify what needs to be filled, prioritise tasks effectively and ensure our shelves and departments are well stocked and presented throughout the day.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with the Owner Operator and Department Managers to support the day-to-day running of the store
- Providing leadership and direction to team members and supervising the store when required
- Ensuring high standards of merchandising, presentation and availability are achieved and maintained
- Working hands-on across all departments as required
- Assisting with checkout operations and Lotto
- Overseeing the responsible and compliant sale of liquor and tobacco
- Maintaining and promoting our Health & Safety and Food Safety standards
- Resolving customer and operational issues in a professional and positive manner
- Supporting the team to deliver an excellent customer experience
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in the retail industry, preferably within a supermarket environment
- Has a strong customer focus and takes pride in delivering great service
- Has strong leadership skills and the confidence to supervise and support a team
- Is organised and able to prioritise effectively in a busy environment
- Has excellent communication skills and can communicate confidently at all levels
- Has a strong attention to detail and a keen eye for presentation
- Is a practical problem solver who can think on their feet
- Learns quickly and is willing to take on new responsibilities
- Is reliable, motivated and able to work independently
- Is a positive, supportive team player with a genuine can-do attitude
Qualifications and experience
A Liquor Licence (Manager's Certificate) would be advantageous, but is not essential for the right applicant. We are happy to support the successful candidate in obtaining this qualification.
Experience with SAP would also be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
A Lotto Certificate would be beneficial but is not essential.
