Checkout Department Manager/Qualified Baker


Full Time Qualified Baker

New World Newtown is currently seeking a Qualified Baker to join our busy instore bakery department.

The Primary role of the baker is to assist in the day-to-day running of the Bakery department, ensuring that a maximum range and sufficient quantity of high quality fresh baked products are available for sale at all times. This role will involve the production of bread products as well as other bakery products e.g. muffin, cakes, pies, pastries etc.

  • A Bakery Trade Qualification.
  • Previous baker and/or Bakery Assistant experience within the retail environment more than 1 year.
  • To be able to meet customer expectations.
  • Flexibility to work all days of the week and to be called on for extra shifts if required.
  • To be physical fit, healthy and able to lift up to 20kg.
  • Strong relationship building & problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written english communication skills.
  • Adhere to our principles and values.

Full Time Checkout Department Manager / Assistant Checkout Department Manager

we are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, customer service focussed individual to join our Checkout Department as a permanent full time Checkout Department Manager.

Reporting to the your Owner Operator your key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all legal requirements around the sale of liquor are strictly adhered to.
  • Maintaininga high level of customer service.
  • Working co-operatively in a team environment as together, we are more successful.
  • Accurateand efficient processing of all customers orders.
  • To be considered for this role you need to be able to meet the following selection criteria:
  • Current General Managers Certificate and / or LCQ certificate.
  • Experiencein Supermarket or hospitality environments.
  • Ambitious,hardworking and tenacious individual with an emphasis on professionalism
  • An absolute commitment to create an environment where customers want to shop byidentifying and focusing upon their needs and expectations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to a wide range of people.
  • Outstandingtime management and organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
