New World Durham Street is on the lookout for a passionate, energetic, and customer focused Fresh Foods Manager to lead our high performing team across Produce, Bakery, Service Deli, Seafood, and Butchery. If you thrive in a fast paced retail environment and love bringing exceptional food experiences to life, this is your chance to step into a key leadership role in one of Christchurch’s flagship supermarkets.

What the role involves

• Leading, coaching, and developing a diverse team across all fresh departments
• Ensuring consistently high standards of product quality, presentation, and food safety
• Managing stock levels, ordering, waste reduction, and department profitability
• Driving a culture of outstanding customer service
• Collaborating with store leadership to deliver promotions, seasonal displays, and innovation
• Maintaining compliance with all food safety, health, and safety requirements
• Creating a positive, supportive, and high performance team environment

What we’re looking for

• Proven leadership experience in supermarket fresh foods or a similar retail environment
• Strong understanding of fresh food operations, merchandising, and stock management
• A hands on leader who leads by example and brings out the best in others
• Excellent communication, organisation, and problem solving skills
• A commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and peak trading periods as required
