DRY GOODS BUYER – LIQUOR

We are looking for a talented and experienced Dry Goods Buyer with experience in Beer & Wine retailing who has a passion for the supermarket industry to ensure our Beer & Wine Departments are running effectively while maximizing opportunities. 

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Great at building strong relationships and communicating effectively, especially with our supplier community
  • Driven to find the best deals to pass on to our customers
  • Focused on providing exceptional customer service at all times 
  • Analytical, self-motivated and show initiative
  • Highly organised, reliable and accountable
  • An experienced buyer or supervisor within the supermarket industry
  • A Forklift licence holder or be willing and able to obtain one

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Securing product procurement on optimum terms
  • Meeting with supplier representatives 
  • Ordering stock for Dry Goods departments, particularly beer and wine
  • Analysing sales, profitability and product performance
  • Managing stock levels in conjunction with the Dry Goods Management team
  • Overseeing stock movements within the department
  • Setting up new products and managing product deletions
  • Setting up and maintaining correct promotional signage in the alcohol area
  • Customer Orders and Enquiries
  • Utilising our SAP business reporting systems to the stores advantage
  • A commitment to our Health & Safety and Food Safety Standards.

This is a full-time position. The days and hours of work are Sunday – Thursday (Friday & Saturday off) 6:30am – 4:00pm.
