Customer Service Lead

We are seeking an enthusiastic and people focused Customer Service Lead to guide our team in a fast paced supermarket environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a positive, can do attitude who is passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences and leading by example. You’ll play a key role in supporting both customers and team members, working as part of an energetic and motivated team.
About the Role
As Customer Service Lead, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of our Checkout, Lotto and supporting areas, ensuring our customers receive friendly, professional, and consistent service every day.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the efficient day to day operation of the Checkout, Lotto and associated areas
- Leading, supporting, and developing the Checkout team
- Working collaboratively with department managers to support overall store performance
- Overseeing daily Lotto operations
- Responsibility for the sale of liquor
- Adherence to Health & Safety and Food Safety compliance within the store
- Opening or closing the store on a rostered basis
- Assisting with staff rostering and shift coverage
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a strong customer focus along with the confidence to lead the front end in a busy retail environment. We are looking for someone with a willingness and interest to be trained to work in all departments within the store to assist when coving holidays or sickness.
You will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in the retail industry (supermarket experience preferred)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- The ability to engage proactively with both customers and staff
- A passion for exceptional customer service and continuous improvement
- A strong work ethic with a high level of personal accountability
- Excellent problem solving skills and a positive, solutions focused attitude
- Flexibility to cover shifts when required
Previous supermarket experience is an advantage, however full training will be provided in our systems and processes. A General Manager’s Licence (or the ability to obtain one) is required for this role.
