Checkout Supervisor

New World Stanmore is a great community supermarket in the heart of Christchurch. We have had an exciting full time (32 hours) role come available as a Checkout Supervisor in our store.

Days and hours are:

• Wednesday 10am-6.30pm
• Thursday 6.45am-3.15pm
• Friday 6.45am-3.15pm
  
• Saturday 11am-7.30pm
  

The role will involve the following:

• Organising the checkout team, arranging breaks
• Authorising alcohol/tobacco purchases
• Problem solving
• Customer service – scanning and packing groceries
• Stocking shelves/facing up; helping the Grocery team when Checkout is quiet
• Cleaning of checkout areas
• Lotto sales and tasks

The person we are looking for will have the following attributes:

• Hold a valid liquor Duty Manager Certificate, Lotto trained, and ideally First Aid Certificate
• Have a passion for giving excellent customer service and going the extra mile for our customers
• Be able to work well in a team, but also be able to complete tasks unassisted in the required timeframe
• Must be able to show initiative and be honest and reliable
• Must have a positive approach to their day and have a ‘can-do’ attitude
• You must also be physically fit as it involves being on your feet all day.
