The Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership role that supports the Butchery Manager in the day-to-day running of the department. You'll play a key role in leading the team, maintaining high merchandising and presentation standards, delivering exceptional customer service, and ensuring the department operates efficiently. The successful applicant will be capable of stepping up and leading the department in the Manager's absence while contributing to a positive and productive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Butchery Manager with the day-to-day operation of the department
• Lead and motivate the team, providing guidance, training, and support
• Oversee department operations in the Manager's absence
• Ensure products are fresh, well presented, and available for customers
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
• Assist with ordering, stock control, and waste management
• Deliver exceptional customer service and product knowledge
• Contribute to achieving departmental sales, productivity, and profitability targets

What We're Looking For

• Proven butchery experience with previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• A passion for quality products and creating an outstanding customer experience
• The ability to lead by example and support the development of others
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Knowledge of food safety and compliance requirements
• A proactive approach and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, motivated, and customer-focused with a positive attitude
• A willingness to step into the Manager's role when required
