Technical Support Engineer - Foodstuffs South Island Limited


Foodstuffs South Island Limited is a major wholesaling and retailing cooperative providing a high level of service to our members - PAK’nSAVE, New World, Four Square, Henry’s, Raeward Fresh, On The Spot, and to Trents customers.

We now have a vacancy within our IT Support Team for a permanent technical support engineer.

The role requires someone with a high level of self-motivation and technical ability, capable of supporting our diverse group of users. The ability to work both independently and within a team environment is essential, and you should be capable of providing support to both Owner/Member businesses within the supermarket industry, as well as to Foodstuffs sites. You will work as part of a small “BAU” support team, assisted by the wider IT team where necessary.

The primary responsibilities for this role will be to support our network, hardware, systems software and peripherals.

To be successful you will have:

  • 3+ years of IT technical engineer experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Desktop Applications
  • Active Directory administration experience
  • Experience in hardware repair, maintenance and procurement
  • Excellent interpersonal and documentation skills
  • Good analytical skills that enable accurate trouble shooting
  • A positive attitude and ability work productively with limited guidance
  • The ability to respond to escalated calls and technical problems in a mature and professional manner
  • Current Full Driver’s licence
  • An IT Tertiary qualification / diploma
