Storeperson - New World Timaru
Here at New World Timaru we pride ourselves on our service, quality and product range. We are currently searching for an experienced Storeperson to join our Inwards Goods team.
As you can imagine our Storeroom is a pretty busy place because every single item that is on our shelves comes through here. The team in the Storeroom are responsible for receiving, checking and the storage of all inwards goods coming into our store. They are also required to maintain our high standards with regards to Food Safety and Health and Safety.
As a Storeperson you will be required to:
- Unload trucks
- Assess deliveries for damage or food safety issues
- Ensure temperature checks are completed and recorded
- Deliver stock to the correct departments
- Break down orders ready to go out onto the shelves
- Verify that what is on the packing slip is what we actually receive
- Repack unused/excess stock and store it in the racking
- Maintain cleanliness in the storeroom
We are looking for someone who is confident with the use of a forklift and has a current licence with ‘F’ endorsement. You will have had experience of working in a busy inwards goods/warehouse environment and you won’t be afraid to say no when the delivery does not meet our standards.
Because what you do affects our inventory you will also need to be accurate and detail orientated with good computer skills. Planning, organisational and time management skills are also essential.
A reasonable level of fitness is also required because heavy lifting, repetitive actions and continuous standing are part of this role.
This is a full-time position from Sunday to Thursday and hours will be discussed at the interview stage.
