Retail Manager- New World Timaru

We are currently searching for an experienced Retail Manager to join our Store.

This role is dual purpose, having responsibility for store operations on the shop floor during the afternoon shift, as well as direct responsibility for the overall management of our Nightfill Team. 

As this is a senior role within our store, previous management experience within a large format retail store is essential. A NZQA Diploma (level 4 or above) or Degree in any field is also well regarded.

This role involves organizing the work-loads to ensure high priority fills occur first, assisting our customers with enquiries, managing staff and staffing levels, recruitment, store security and maintaining our high standards for store presentation.

We also need you to be:

• Good with people, able to communicate well and not afraid to give instructions
• Able to train and develop staff to ensure they have good knowledge of products, presentation, merchandising standards and customer service
• Experienced with a busy inwards goods/storeroom environment
• Confident with use of a forklift
• A stickler for health and safety
• Physically fit (repetitive and heavy lifting is involved)
• Focused, able to think on your feet and work with your team to get the job done

A Forklift License with an ‘F’ endorsement and a Duty Manager Certificate are also requirements of this role.

This is a full-time role. Days of work are Tuesday to Saturday, 2.30pm until midnight.
