Fresh Foods Assistant - Seafood Department

FRESH FOODS ASSISTANT - SEAFOOD

We are looking for a person with a passion for food preparation to work in our Seafood department. 

Our rosters are fixed, so you’ll know what days you’ll work each week and that you’ll be working 9 hours per day, 45 hours per week. The roster for this position is:

WEDNESDAY TO SUNDAY 9am - 6.30PM. 

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Someone with previous food handling and preparation experience (this is essential)
  • Physically fit and able to lift reasonably heavy items
  • A team player with the ability to assist colleagues as well as work independently
  • Attentive to detail and committed to providing an excellent shopping experience for our customers 
  • Reliable
  • Available to work weekends

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing fish and seafood
  • Packing and presenting products ready for sale
  • Providing a high level of customer service and assisting customers 
  • Maintaining stock levels in cabinets and retail spaces and ensuring all products on display are excellent quality
  • Cleaning trays, utensils and kitchen areas
  • Compliance with our Health and Safety and Food Safety programme.
